Designed for enterprise customers with deployed IP PBX and IP phones, IP Trunking is a product that delivers VoIP access and essential telephony features to locations that house as many as 1,000 or more end-users. Verizon provides the IP access to the Verizon IP backbone, thereby eliminating the need to purchase complex and costly TDM enterprise gateway CPE.
IP Trunking combines voice and data traffic onto a single network, enabling customers to manage networks more efficiently and leverage leading-edge business applications.
It also provides productivity-enhancing products that are interoperable and address a range of size and infrastructure needs while preparing for the next generation of technology.
Because IP Trunking works with the customer's existing IP PBX system and IP telephones:
- All the IP-PBX features are retained.
- There is no need to retrain employees on any of the calling features or functions.
- There is no need to invest in costly TDM gateway equipment.
- There is no need for equipment changeover or disruption to services.
- Additional cost savings opportunities may be realized through converged access.
